Spring Store

Dear Friends,

We know Spring has arrived when our crew of expert booksellers start staring at the ground, intently willing the daffodils to appear, and begin spending their lunch hours reading in the beautiful gardens at the Northshire. As we thaw out our frosty bones, I’d like to acknowledge, with gratitude, that we enter the season with one of our best and most dedicated teams of booksellers. The Northshire has always been devoted to bringing our guests the friendliest and most knowledgeable customer service that is possible.

We currently have seven Master Booksellers on staff, career booksellers who each have in excess of ten years experience at the Northshire and have achieved the highest level of expertise and experience in the book business. Aside from these seasoned pros, we have an extremely well read, enthusiastic (bordering on fanatical) staff of booksellers dedicated to making your visits to the Northshire Bookstore a lot more than just a shopping trip – more like a literary holiday with old friends. We’d like our store to be a haven for our customers, a place where you can come and see the best author events, browse our shelves - and get help if you need it (and not if you don’t) from the best and friendliest booksellers in the world.

The weekend of May 10th, we are working with Orvis, The Equinox and Stratton Mountain to bring you fantastic authors in the store and at Orvis Flagship Store, including Kenny Mayne and Elizabeth George. The rest of the month we welcome Newbery Medal winner Jerry Spinelli; gardening expert Barbara Damrosch and for Red Sox fans, sportswriter Michael Holley, and many others. Visit our Events Page for details and the list of additional fine events.

Thanks for listening,

Erik C. Barnum
