This is a great story, it's hard to tell where her comedy ends & her tragedy begins. Her father was a self loathing narcissist, & not much of a father. He threw himself into the restoration of there family home as if he was repairing himself. However, when his cracks keep showing through, he throws himself in front of a truck.

This volume collects five years of daily comics. Kochalka started keeping his diary in 1998, & it deals mostly with the daily minutiae of his life in Burlington. It includes the birth of his son & even some mild globetrotting as he tours with his band. It holds a microscope over the little stuff we usually forget over the course of the day. Vampires arrange a get together in Barrow, Alaska, where the sun does not rise for the next month. Blood bath ensues, but a small group of residents are'nt going to lay down and die. Niles tells a real white knuckle story, and Templesmith's drawings galvanize it into a graphic nightmare.
